Well, not exactly but where did this expression even come from? This is a great pun on the word stirring as it means both to be active and to mix in the ingredients while cooking. It basically means “Why are you so actively moving? Are you a stir-fried Chicken?”
Why use stir-fried chicken in the pun? Well, it is one of the best dishes out there and one needs to actively stir the dish to make it well so he probably used this dish as a reference. you can’t blame him either – this dish is delicious, healthy, gives you a ton of energy, and is simple to make.
All you need to do is, grab a pan, heat up some oil, chop up some veggies and add in the chicken. Along with this, since this dish uses very little oil and loads of vegetables along with chicken, the nutrient contents of this dish are high as well.

- Chicken: 800 Gram
- Broccoli: 500 Gram
- Carrot: 500 Gram
- Garlic: 30 Gram (Minced)
- Mustard Oil: 2 Tablespoon
- Salt: 1 Teaspoon
- Pepper:1 Teaspoon
- Light Soy Sauce: 1 teaspoon
- Flour: 20 Gram
- Coariander Leaves: 2/3 Pieces
Method to Make Stir-Fried Chicken
To make this dish, all you need to do is, heat up some oil, add in the chicken and add in the finely chopped vegetables. These are all the things that you need to do. Is it dumbly simple? Yes, it is and at the same time, it is nutritious, tasty, and healthy as well.
Total Time: 20 minutes
Step 1: Start with the Chicken
– Heat up some oil
– Add in the chicken
– Add in the salt, pepper
– Saute (light fry) till the chicken is light brown
– Remove from the pan to cool
Step 2: Add in the vegetable
– Heat up 1 tablespoon of oil
– Saute Carrots and broccoli
– Stir till the broccoli is golden brown in color
– Remove the vegetables
– Add in the garlic and saute it
– Add in the vegetables and chicken back in
Step 3: Garnish and Serve
– Take the dish out
– Garnish with coriander leaves
– Serve on a hot plate
A small reminder that there are some dishes that taste the best when served on a warm plate and some that taste the best when served on a cold plate. Stir-fried chicken just happens to be one of those dishes that maintain its optimum flavor on a warm plate.
Side note* Cold Plate is a plate that has been kept in a refrigerator to make its surface cold and is normally used to serve dishes that are made without heat like Ice-cream and salad and hot plate are plates that have been heated, usually used to serve warm dishes like stir-fried chicken and soups.
That being said, this dish is surprisingly simple and easy to make. As a side note, you can replace the carrot with mushrooms and add in some extra vegetables like cauliflowers and beans. The process will still remain the same but the taste. It might just reach a new level.
