What if we don’t pay the Tax as per the Bike Tax Rate in Nepal?

If we do not do this then in extreme cases, as per clause (c) of section 7, the tax officer will withhold the Motor Vehicle Subject (which in our case is the bike) and recover the tax by auctioning the motor vehicle.

But this is not the only issue with not paying the tax on bikes and the are many less severe consequences as well.

For instance, if a person fails to pay tax within the time limit mentioned in Section 4, if the tax is not paid in time, the tax officer may impose a fine in various ways which are:

  • 5 % of the total tax amount if the tax is not paid within the first 30 days from the expiration date
  • 10% of the total tax amount if the tax is not paid within 40 days from the expiration date
  • 20% of the total tax amount if the tax is not paid up to the end of the fiscal year.

Once this period exceeds, the tax officers can very well sell auction your bike off. So you should pay the bike tax on time. But what is the bike tax rate in Nepal as of 2078/79?
