Who doesn’t like making slime, right? It is a fun thing that may not have much practical use but is satisfying to play with.

The first method is using common ingredients i.e without the use of borax 

The second method is with the use of borax. 

It should be noted that while one can make slime without the borax, there will be a few extra processes but at the same time, the ingredients are common.

Using borax and some clear glue and mixing them together is the simplest method. However, most of us have no idea what borax is or where to get it from. 

FYI, Borax is a boron compound used as a household cleaning agent. While it is not uncommon, a lot of us still don't know what it is.

Now let’s talk about the recipe to make slime from common ingredients using borax.

Out of two, it is the easy way of making slime. While borax is indeed a bit hard to find and somewhat expensive, the quality of slime you will get will be better than the ones made when not using Borax. Let’s check the ingredients before moving on to the process.

The process of making slime with the borax is similar to the ones without the borax, All you need to do is mix the solutions and wait. One key difference between the two is that while the latter one is not meant for multiple uses, this one is.

Total Time 10 minutes

Step 1 Glue Solution

– Take 1/4th cup of Glue and mix it with the same amount of water
– Stir till both of them are blended well

Step 2 Food coloring and Borax

-Add in a few drops of food coloring
-Add 2 teaspoons of borax
– Stir Slowly

Once to do these your slime is ready. This process is simpler and the slime is of a better quality as well. Along with this, you can make this type of slime last longer by sealing it in an airtight plastic bag and keeping it in the refrigerator.

It is really easy to make slime and this simple gooey material can entertain us for hours. Besides fun, it can also be used as a temporary glue or to clean crevices that we can’t access.

But that being said, be careful not to eat it. Slimes can look pretty tasty - especially the ones with food coloring.

How to Make a Slime without Borax

Now let’s make slime without Borax.

There can be a few extra steps but in the end, the result is the same.

The process of making slime is indeed a little difficult as compared to making it with borax. You need to take the ingredients and mix them together. Once the mixture is made, then drain the excess liquid, and Boom you have a slime ready to play with. While the homemade ones may not be as durable as the industrial-grade ones, it is still worth the effort and use.

Total Time 10 minutes

Step 1 Mix

– Add 7 tablespoons of Skim Milk
– Add 1 tablespoon of VInegar
– Gently stir

Step 2 Filter

– let the mix sink to the bottom
– Drain the liquid off using the coffee filter

Step 3 Kneading

– Add 1/4 tablespoon of Baking Soda
– Kneed them together till slimy in texture

Once we complete these processes we will have completed the process of making slime both with and without the use of borax. Simple and easy, right?
