How to Apply for UAE Golden Visa? 5 Simple Steps

UAE is one of the top destinations in the world.

For many entrepreneurs, travellers, students, and investors UAE is their dreamland to establish themselves and flourish their economy together with enjoying the country’s facilities.

In 2019, with the scheme to bring economic growth to the country UAE came up with a plan to attract highly skilled manpower and foreign investors through its UAE Golden Visa plan.

What is UAE Golden Visa?

The United Arab Emirates approves UAE Golden Visa. Golden Visa was introduced in 2019, under which foreigners are permitted to live, work and study in the UAE without the need for a national sponsor and with a guarantee of 100 per cent ownership of their business on the UAE’s mainland.

The duration of the UAE Golden Visa is 10 years. If met the required conditions set by the United Arab Emirates, one can also renew for a further decade when it is about to expire.

UAE Golden Visa is an alternative name for Citizenship by Investment. There are two types of residence permits in UAE on the basis of the validity period. They are:

Ten-year Residence Permits
Five-year Residence Permits

UAE Golden Visa: Who Can Apply?

You can apply for the UAE Golden Visa if you fall into these categories:

1. PhD. Degree Holder

If you are PhD holder from a renowned university, then you can apply for a Golden Visa.

2. Doctors

If you are a doctor, then you can apply for a golden visa. Doctors can apply for UAE golden Visa online between the months of July 2021 and September 2022. If you’re a Dubai licensed professional you can also apply.

3. Engineers

Whether you are a software engineer, computer engineer, or electronic engineer then Yes!! you can apply for a golden visa.

4. Highly Qualified Individuals

If you are a highly talented individual or extraordinary student then you can apply for a Golden Visa. You must meet the following requirement:

Graduated from one of the top 500 international universities.
Award or appreciation certificate in the area of expertise.
High school students must have a minimum 95% grade and university students with 3.6 GPA or higher.

5. Researchers/Scientists

If you are a researcher or scientist in a specific field then you can apply for a Golden Visa. But you must be recognized or approved by Emirates Scientists Council.

6. Inventors

The UAE also offer a golden visa to inventors but they must obtain a patent of value which adds to the UAE’s economy. The patent must be approved by the Ministry of Economy.

7. Artists

If you are a talented artist, then you can also apply for UAE Golden Visa. But your art must be acknowledged by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Department.

8. Investors

If you have invested more than 2 Million Dh in form of real estate, deposit, or company then you can apply for UAE Golden Visa.

UAE Golden Visa: Pricing and Requirement

UAE offers two types of Golden Visa for investors.

Five-year Golden Visa

To apply for this visa, you must buy a real state property with a minimum value of AED 2,000,000 without a mortgage. After the issuing of the Golden Visa, you must maintain the investment for at least two years.

Ten-year Golden Visa

To apply for this Visa, you must invest a minimum value of AED 2,000,000 in the company, share in the company, or put it in a deposit. Just like in Five-year Golden Visa, you must maintain the investment for at least two years after obtaining the UAE Golden Visa. In addition, you have to provide the documents that serve as evidence that you paid taxes for AED 250,000 annually for the last two years.

UAE Golden Visa: Eligibility

Older than 18 years
Must have no criminal records,
Must have no socially dangerous sicknesses, such as HIV.
Investors should have a legal income.

UAE Golden Visa: Benefits

A long-term, renewable residence visa valid for 10 years.
No sponsorship required i.e. Self-Sponsored Visa,
Can take their Spouse and family members together regardless of their ages.
If the main applicants died before the expiry of the Visa, other family members can still stay in the UAE until the validity of the visa is over.
Ability to stay outside of the UAE for any amount of time without having to worry about their visa being nullified.
Can enjoy every facility that the normal citizens of UAE enjoy.
Social security.

UAE Golden Visa: Disadvantages

To obtain this it requires huge capital i.e. a minimum of AED 250,000. Not everyone have such a heavy amount. Only suitable for entrepreneurs(rich people).
As soon as the adult child gets married, he or she will no longer be entitled to this residence permit.

How to Apply for UAE Golden Visa?

Here is how!!!

Follow the procedure to apply for UAE Golden Visa successfully.

Step1: Register on Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) Website

The first step is to register your interest on the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) website.

Click on the embedded link to reach the ICA Website.

Step2: Click on Golden Service

Now click on the Golden Service option as shown in the figure.

Click on the second option, if you are from one of the eligible categories, but have not yet been nominated, then you should apply via the box labelled “Visa – Golden Visa – Nomination Request For Golden Residence – New Request”.

Step3: Fill the Form Correctly

Fill in all the asked information correctly and fill the category of your expertise.

Unified Identification Number (UID)

It is a six-digit number automatically assigned to you when you enter the UAE. You can find it on the residence Visa.

So, fill the UID number in a place where asked.

Step4: Attach the Asked Document

After you have filled out the form successfully, the next step is to attach the asked document.

Documents Required

Copy of your passport.
Passport-size photos
Bank Statement of the past 6 months.
Any additional documents that serve as evidence of your purpose: Company Trade License Copy. Copy of Partnership Contract (if applicable) ID of other partners (if applicable)

Step5: Pay the Application Fee

Now the final process is to review your application one more time and pay the application fee to apply for UAE Golden Visa successfully.

For applicants currently in the UAE, the Golden Visa will cost between AED 2,800 and AED 3,800.

For applicants outside of the UAE, the Golden Visa will cost between AED 3,800 and AED 4,800.

So, if you fall into any of the above-mentioned nine categories, then you can surely apply for UAE Golden Visa. After you have submitted the application, you will be notified through email or message.

What if I am applying from outside the UAE?

If you currently residing outside of the UAE, you will be granted a six-month visa under which you can enter UAE and explore its opportunities, and settle.

To apply for this multi-entry visa, you need to fill in an online form. There is one for investors, and one for entrepreneurs and outstanding students. It costs Dh1,150.

The six-month visa for talented people is only a single entry.

During this period, you will be required to convert your temporary visa into a residency permit.
