1. Agriculture and Forestry University, Rampur

 It is situated in the Chitwan district of Nepal. AFU was established in 2010 to provide the best quality education to students. It is the Best college for Agriculture related since in Nepal. AFU was established on the basis of the land grant model and has a very cheap fee structure.

The university aims to produce highly skilled manpower required to work on agriculture related research and development. This university inherits undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs.

AFU, Chitwan takes a total of 596 students, which include 54 from each 7 affiliated college and 218 in Rampur for agriculture, and 52 students for veterinary, and only 20 students for fisheries.

Scholarship for agriculture students

As AFU is established in the Land grand model, the majority of students get scholarships. For Agriculture, 391 students out of 596 students got a full scholarship (The remaining students have to pay only 2 lakh under UDF (Under Development Faculty). For Veterinary, 36 got a full scholarship and remaining study under the UDF quota which includes a 5.5 yrs tuition fee of RS. 2.5 lakh. For fisheries, 12 got a full scholarship and the remaining study under the UDF quota with a minimum fee.

2. Paklihawa Agriculture Campus, TU

It is one of the Best Agriculture College in Nepal. It has a well-developed lab and other infrastructure and good at practical research activities.

They take 104 students in agriculture and 50 for the vet. Among them, 50 and 25 students got a full scholarship in the respective field. The scholarship includes both merit and different kind of quota.

3. Lamjung campus, Tribhuwan University

 It is one of the Constituent College of Trivuban University situated at Sundarbazar, Lamjung. It is the best place for those who don’t like the hot climate. It has only one faculty- Agriculture. The fee structure is the same as the Paklihawa campus. They take a total of 104 students for agriculture.

There are other private collages in affiliation to Tribhuwan University like the one in Dang and Jhapa.  But they do no function under the government and fee structure is also high.

4. HICAST

It is the private Agriculture College which is situated in the Kathmandu valley. They have a well-developed lab facility and an excellent environment. It has two faculty- Agriculture and Veterinary. They take 96 students for agriculture and 40 for veterinary.

Fee structure of Lamjung Campus

They take around RS. 12 Lakh and Rs 15 lakh for agriculture and veterinary respectively. Among them, they only provide scholarships for 10% of students. As it is a private institution, the fee is higher compared to other colleges.

Proximity to the capital city and the number of extra-curricular activities makes Hicast a good choice among students and an agriculture college in Nepal too.
