Top 10 Animated Movies That You Must Watch
What shall I watch? If you have this question going in your head, this is just the list for you. Enjoy watching these animated movies that you must watch. I have not included any “Anime” movies here as that is a topic for another time.
1. Frozen
What happens when you turn an ice queen into a Disney princess? Well, you get a princess who can’t control her powers and her naive little sister. Elsa, a young princess in Arendelle possesses magical powers that allow her to control and create ice and snow. On her 21st birthday when she was supposed to be crowned as a queen, she loses control of her powers and freezes the kingdom in eternal ice. This movie is a journey of acceptance and realization of one’s true nature. As with every Disney movie the base theme is that love overall heals you. Unlike other Disney movies, this movie has no prince so it is worth watching. The emo dynamic between emo Elsa and happy go lucky anna is a great one. Plus you get lovable characters like Olaf and Sven along the way as well.
2. Wall-E
In the dystopian future, planet earth has no living beings left. What is left is one lonely garbage collecting robot named Wall-E. The humans have gone into interstellar space to find a new home after the earth has been polluted beyond repair. They send a life searching robot named EVE. Wall-E falls for EVE (yes the robots have gotten that advanced by this point despite looking like legos and marshmallows). What ensures is a journey of love, realization, and socialization. The thing is, by now, the humans in the voyage are so fat that they are entirely dependent on robots. They don’t even know that earth exists at this point. Will Wall-E teach them what earth is and bring them back home? Will the love between a garbage collector and a high profile life sensor succeed? Totally worth watching
3. Big Hero 6
Sticking to the theme of the Robots, let’s talk about Big Hero 6. The Mascot of the movie is a talking Marshmallow robot. Originally designed to be a healthcare robot, Baymax later is transformed into a combat one with Iron-Man like attachments by our boy Hiro Hamada. After Tadashi dies in an explosion, Hiro gets depressed but overtime he suspects that it was not an accident. The whole movie is about finding out whether the death of Tadashi was an accident or not. Helping Hiro are Tadashi’s friends whom he befriends later on. A story about grief and the motivation that comes after the loss of someone we love, this animated movie is definitely worth watching more times than one.
4. UP
Carl Fredricksen, an old stubborn guy who is not willing to move his old house in the booming town regardless of what the buyers pay. Seems like a typical old guy right? What ensures is them going through mysterious places and meeting Doug and Kevin, a dodo-like bird. What will happen next? Will they reach anywhere? Watch this movie to find out and one the side note, keep a box of tissue. It will make you cry.
5. Tangled
Now let’s go back to the Disney princess. We all have heard or read about the classic story of Rapunzel right? Well, this is the same tale but with a twist. Instead of a prince rescuing the lady with the long hair, in this movie, it is a thug. Flynn rider is a thief by profession. He swindles people for profit and is a wanted man. Rapunzel is not a gentle girl either. Here she is a cute but deadly girl who loves to hit people with a frying pan. Following her rescue from the tower, she goes on a journey. A journey that has her falling for a thief. A journey that has her sacrificing her magical hair for a thief, a journey that has her finding out about her parents. 10. Monsters Inc
Will animals become monsters if they evolve? No this is not relevant to this movie but this movie is about talking monsters with a society that functions in scream energy or is it? In the movie, the monsters have a society that runs on scream and they harvest it through the screams of children. They are hiding behind the closet doors. Well, the monsters are pretty chill but to the kids, the big claws and furry body look scary. The plot centers around a kid who escapes into the monster world “boo” and caused a ruckus changing the whole monster world as we know it. It is a cute story between two monsters and a kid.
