This simple drink is something that even amateurs can make and is something that is appreciated by even the pickiest of foodies. Just because something is simple doesn’t mean that it is bad you see. On top of that, you can make different variants from just about every fruit- as long as the fruit is soft and sweet.
Today we will talk about how to make a few different types of lassi. Well, the different types of lassi are just a variant of plain lassi with additional ingredients so the process will remain the same. Regardless, let’s jump straight to the lassi now.

Total Time 5 minutes
Step 1: Blend
– Blend the yogurt, ice, water, sugar, and salt
-Blend until the mixture becomes frothy.

The recipe is as simple as that. There is literally one step to make this simple sweetness of summer which is blending everything. If you are making this for yourself, you can even skip the serving part. Just grab a cup and drink straight from it.
If you have mango at home along with yogurt, then you can make a Mango Lassi as well. The ingredients do vary a little while the process remains the same.
Ingredients to make a Mango Lassi
- 100 Milileter plain yogurt
- 6 cubes of ice, crushed
- 100 Milileters of ice water
- 1 tea spoon of Ground Cardamom
- 4 teaspoons white sugar
- 10 grams salt
- 4 Mango peeled and seeded
These are all the ingredients that you will need to make a Mango Lassi. You may have noticed an extra spice here “ground cardamom“. It is an optional one but the subtle spiciness of the cardamom mixes with the extra sweetness of the mango really well and just heightens the flavor.
Along with mango, banana is one of the best choices to combine with lassi. It is also one of those fruits that you can find all throughout the year. Similar to the Mango variant, the process is the same – blend everything together. However also similar to the Mango Varient, the ingredients are different as well.
Ingredients for Banana Lassi
- 100 Milileter plain yogurt
- 6 cubes ice, crushed
- 100 Milileters of ice water
- 1 Cup of Milk
- 4 teaspoons white sugar
- 10 grams salt
- 2 Overripe Banana
The reason why we need an over-ripe banana is that if the banana is not over-ripe, it will not be as sweet and harder to blend. Regardless if you don’t have overripe ones, you can use regular bananas as well. Now, if you want some bitter-sweet experience while drinking a Lassi, how about a Cold-Coffee Lassi for a change?
Ingredients for Cold-Coffee Lassi
- 1 teaspoon powdered coffee
- 4 teaspoon powdered sugar
- 150 Milileters of fresh curd
- 50 Milileters of chilled water
- 4 cubes of ice
To make a Cold-coffee Lassi you do have to Soak the coffee power in Lukewarm water for 2 minutes before blending it with the rest of the ingredients. While this variation of lassi is still a sweet drink, you will get a subtle bitterness from the coffee and that is the bittersweet magic of this drink.
