The initial step is to inform the respective authorities in the VDC/Municipality you reside regarding the type of Business firm you are planning to establish. Then you will be given a certificate after which you can proceed with registering a Business PAN in Nepal.

Step1: Open the Browser and Type“IRD Nepal”

Open the browser and search for “IRD Nepal” or click on the provided link to reach the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) website.
You can customize the language according to your preference. If you want to switch to the English language, then click on the option “English” as shown in the figure.
Now, click on the “Tax-Payer Portal” to continue the procedure.
Step2: Click on the “Registration (PAN, VAT, EXCISE)” Option
Tap on the “Registration (PAN, VAT, EXCISE)” Option. While doing so, click on the ‘+’ sign of the same tab to expand the vertical menu.
Now select the Option “Application For Registration”
Fill in all the asked information correctly.
Select the Registration for Income Tax if you want to apply for Business PAN.
Now in the ‘Verifying Offices’ section, choose the IRD office located near your area.
Click on the Ok button. You will be given a submission which is important so note down it.
Click on Continue to continue the procedure.

Step3: Fill the Information in Nepali Language and Upload Photo and Documents Asked
Fill in all the asked information in the Nepali language.

Upload a photo and required documents as asked.
There select the Business type. If an Individual is selected, the business subtype will display ‘PROPRIETORSHIP’ only. If Business is selected the list will contain ‘Private Limited’, ‘Public Limited’ etc.
Now enter your business details like trade name, place of business, registration date, etc
If the business is in a rented property, then you have to enter the Landlord’s details:
- PAN (if Exist)
- Land lord’s Name
- Area in square feet
- Parcel Number
- Rent Amount
- Land lord’s address.
Now enter the details of Business Personnel details (detail of Managing Director or CEO) by clicking the ‘’Business Personnel detail’ tab. You also should list the Branch details(if any).
Step4: Click on the “Save” Button
After filling all asked information correctly, now click on the “Save” Button
If you have to change or edit any information or details filled in the form, you can log in with registration details again. To edit any information you need your username, password, and submission number.
Now, after you have edited/ checked all the information, click on the “Submit” Button
Once you have submitted you cannot edit or change the information.
Step5: Visit IRD Office
After you have submitted the application, the IRD office will verify your details and provide you with a PAN Card.
- Business registration certificate, company registration certificate
- Copy of Citizenship certificate and 2 photos Businessmen
- Estate ownership document/ rental contract
- Location map of the proposed industry/trading business

There is no fee to register in PAN.
Now, go to the IRD and submit the application to the concerned officer. The official at the IRD office will verify your details and provide you Business PAN card.
