There has been a rise in Ride-Sharing apps in Nepal in the past couple of years with a handful of apps coming to the market. It has been very helpful for someone looking for quick hassle-free comfortable rides and also to riders who want to earn some cash. Out of all the ride-sharing apps we have listed some of our favourites and reliable ones:
1. Tootle
Tootle is one of the first ride-sharing apps in the country and is fairly popular too. It provides service through bikes and recently even through cabs. The UI is simple where you set your destination from your current location and choose between Bike or a Cab. You get to pay with Tootle Wallet or Directly through Cash. Then you just have to wait for the nearby riders to confirm and reach your location which doesn’t take much time depending on your location. The tootle wallet can be topped up from Esewa, Khalti, Tootle Voucher, SCT MoCo, or IME Payment.
There is also a “Tootle Partner” App for someone who wants to earn a little extra cash. The partner app is available in both Android and iOS.
The base fare for first 3 Kms is Rs 60. Then Rs.18 extra for every additional kilometre.

2. Pathao
Pathao is another app that operates in multiple countries one of them being Nepal. Although It also does food and parcel delivering services in its home country Bangladesh, it only operates as a ride-sharing app here in Nepal. It has a simple app where you can choose from Bike or a Car. Then select the destination and wait for the rider to confirm and be there at your destination. You can pay with cash or with digital wallets. It has set a speed limit for its riders to minimize the risk of reckless riding.
For someone with Bike and Car that wants to earn through Pathao can have themselves registered online through the website. For Android users, you can download “Pathao Drive.”
Pathao charges Base fare Rs.30 and Rs.15 for every kilometre with Minimum Fare being Rs.45. For Cabs Pathao charges Base Fare Rs. 100 with Rs. 39 for every kilometre and Rs.1 per minute with minimum fare being Rs.150

3. Easy Taxi Nepal
As the name suggests, Easy Taxi Nepal is only for Taxis. Easy Taxi Nepal also operates on GPS and provides rides to customers nearby. It has about 5000 total taxis which is probably the largest for a taxi-booking app. The UI of this app is also similar to you entering the destination and the taxi driver accepting your ride. You can pay through cash or use digital wallets. The fare is as per the government with the help of digital meter.
There is also an app for people with taxis willing to connect to the customers via an app available in the Play store called “Easy Taxi Partner.”

4. Sarathi
Sarathi has been one of the known names as it had started operation in 2017 with offline booking. Now it has turned into a ride-sharing app in the taxi world. It is similar to ones like Tootle, Pathao and others. Its the same concept where the taxi picks you up after accepting your request. Sarathi charges fare as per the government price.

5. Eddy Cab
Eddy Cab is a taxi booking app which has been in operation since a couple of years and claims it to be first of it’s kind. The concept is basically the same where you connect drivers and passengers with the apps making it easier to books cabs. The rate is basically the same as per the government price.
You can register yourself through the app “Eddy Cab Guru” if you have a taxi.
