Counted amongst the new interesting attraction of Nepal, this falls is also recognized as Bahubali Jharana. Nested in the middle at Kafaldanda, Roshi Rural Municipality, Kavre. This waterfall is located about 65 KM away from Kathmandu. Tindhare Jharana is the place to enjoy the beauty and listen to what nature says. The mesmerizing view of about 300 m tall waterfall stumbled upon a hills grandeur of Kafaldanda will make this place heaven.

This shimmering and falling, breaking into hundreds of shards of spray waterfall was unknown to many people. But now, the crashing water scars over the green hills attracts the soul. The swishing waterfall over the rocks joyfully and toppled into the small poll at the bottom is worth watching. This new scenic spot will amuse you with the scattered waterfall over the green hills.

A few months back Tindhare Jharana was out of the public eye but now around 300 peoples visit this place. Especially youngsters and bike riders visit this scenic destination. As this is a new destination the road is not so comfortable and best for the adventure seekers. On the way to Tindhare Falls, you will see the scenic beauty and Newari influenced culture.

Why it is “Tindhara Jharana”?


This Jharana is named after Tindhara because it is scattered into many streams and mainly falling from the 3 sides of the Mahabharat range. As we break down Tindhara to English, “Tin” means 3 and “Dhara” means spouts. Those 3 sides are also spread into many which makes this falls one of the amazing places to refresh.

Way to Tindhare Jharana

To reach this scenic waterfall you have to take the Sindhuli-Bardibas road from Dhulikhel which takes you to Jaruwakhola. This fall is located in the Kavrepalachowk, eastern part of the valley. After a few miles of a drive from Kathmandu, you reach Bhaktapur, Sanga, Banepa bazaar, Dhulikhel, Namo Buddha, Dapcha Bazaar, and then Tindhare Jharana. Till Namo Buddha, the road will be normal yet adventurous but after Dapcha Bazar it will be more adventurous because the road is not good. From Dapcha bazaar it will take around 1.5 to 2 hours of the ride according to your riding skills. The starting point of hiking is Kafal Danda and it takes about 4-5 hours to reach there from Kathmandu. As you reach to Kafal danda then you will have to hike about 1 hour to reach Tindhare Jharana.

Dapcha Bazaar comes in the way to Tindhare Jharana. Dapcha Bazaar is the amazing ancient Newar settlement. You can see beautiful houses with unique design and hospitable local peoples.

Kailashnath Mahadev Statue is the second tallest statue standing in Sanga. This statue is 143 feet (43.5 m) in height. Kailashnath Mahadev Statue is made using concrete, zinc, copper, and steel. This statue is dedicated to Lord Shiva and first introduced on 21 June 2011.

Namobuddha Monastery

Namobuddha Monastery is another amazing attraction while you are on the way to Tindhara Jharana. This ancient monastery is actually called Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery located in the hill of Namobuddha Municipality. These monasteries carry the historic story dated back to 6000 years ago. As you reach the top of Namobuddha hill it offers beautiful layers of green hills and a mountain range on a clear day.

The chairperson of Tindhare waterfall said that this place comes to the media after some visitor took a drone shot in the first week of February and became popular. According to locals, more than a thousand people on daily basis enjoy the Tindare Jharana. The local body is trying to improve the motorable road and hiking trail for the safety of visitors. According to the chairperson some budget had been allotted for fencing and paving the trial to attract more tourists.

Tindhare Jharana is the best place near Kathmandu, who has not much time but want to get lost in nature and experience the adventure. You can go to the weekend or whenever you are free as it is only 65 km away from where you can experience the thundering waterfall. If can also extend your trip by visiting Namobuddha, Sanga, Bhaktapur, and so on. If you want overnight then you can combine your trip to Palanchok Bhagwati or Banepa which adds remarkable memory to your trip.
