Silicon Valley is an American comedy television series premiered on April 6, 2014, that focuses on five young men who found a startup company in Silicon Valley. It’s a great show for older teens and adults interested in technology.
Storyline:
Silicon Valley is a comedy show that centers on a group of young, mostly male computer programmers attempting to strike it rich in the tech world. It is totally based on what the new generation of today wants. Silicon Valley is all about a new topic with new faces. It tells the story about the protagonist and his friends and how they manage to raise their platform after lots of obstacles and struggles. It is one of the TV series which has an incredible story along with good comedy punches.
Casting:
The characters look very real. For example, the evolution of Jian goes from being a sidekick of a sidekick to a quasi-villain and then just a sad guy who misses his friends and wants to come home. The characters are believable and may exist in the real world.
Location:
Most of the indoor scenes are shot in a studio in Culver City. For outdoor locations are the Cal State Los Angeles Student Union Building, Palo Alto, The Rose, and Crowd bar where crowdfunding for “Bro” happens, was renamed The Ox & Bull in post. Besides for Hooli headquarters, the other exterior shots in the LA area as opposed to Mountain View, are the Arbitration court, which is in Burbank, Big Head’s incubator, which is in Pacific Palisades, and Erlich’s incubator which is also a real house in Woodland Hills.
Background Score:
The soundtrack actually goes really well playing a montage of the show and the quintessential “silicon valley startup life”. Makes a good punch line for the beginning scenes and is fitting for the timelapse intro.
Moral:
Silicon Valley is a must-watch TV series for people interested in knowing how Startups work in the ‘Silicon Valley’, challenges one may face while Starting up, the post Funding difficulties Startups face, and many other techs and startup lessons.
