1. Phidim:
Itt is a six-hour drive from Birtamod within a winding road via Ilam. Phidim has tin-roofed houses and small concrete buildings – Two Phewa and Hewa rivers surround the hill where the town is inhabited. It is also a trading center for the rural people of the district. Phidim is within a valley in the foot of the mountains in eastern Nepal. The climate of Phidim is calm during the summer and cold and misty in the winter. The maximum temperature in the summer goes up to 25 degrees Celsius whereas in winter it lowers to 2 degrees Celsius. Phidim is about 130 kilometers from Kakarvitta and is nearly 160 from Siliguri.
It is a gorgeous hill station with a unique panorama and scenic beauty of surroundings that make it so attractive. This place is also popular for its own standard socio-cultural structure and cultural variety. Tourists start arriving in March & April to indulge in fishing. Fishing is generally in the Khewatham river. Khewatham river is a shelter for many fishes and also has three falls joining it.
