How to cook Jaulo?
Mixing all the food ingredients and cooking it under pressure, readies the ultimate Jaulo. Fit for little children to old ones. It goes along for every one of you. Easy to cook and easy to eat.
Ingredients for Jaulo
- A mix of lentils and white rice. 200 grams
- Vegetables
- Broccoli (हरियो काउली): 3 oz
- Garlic: (लसुन): 3 cloves, crushed
- Ginger (अदुवा): 1 small piece, crushed
- Carrot (गाजर): 3 oz, shredded
- Green Sweet Peas (हरियो केराउ): 1 oz
- Spinach (हरियो साग): 2 oz
- Baby Bella Mushroom (च्याउ): 3 oz, chopped
- Potato (आलु): 1 medium-sized, chopped
- Here are the spices:
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) Cumin Seeds (जिरा)
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) Fenugreek Seeds (मेथी)
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) Turmeric Powder (बेसार)
- 1 tablespoon mix of Cumin and Coriander Powder (जिरा र धनियाको धुलो)
- Salt, according to your taste or 1/2 teaspoon (नून)
- Clarified Butter (pure cow ghee: घ्यू)
Leave out all the rest and go for Jaulo.
Step 1 Soak Soft
Readying the ingredients for Jaulo, you must remember to soak the rice and the beans in water for sometime to bring it to soft texture.
Step 2 Frying the Seeds
Next heat some oil that you have chosen. And put some Cumin and Fenugreek seeds and let it fry.
Then add some onions and ginger and garlic paste and mix it with some turmeric as you fry the contents.
Step 3 Beans and Rice
Now add the soaked beans and rice. And mix it to give color to the whole ingredients.
Step 4 Vegetables and Spices
Now, mix the rest of the dry vegetables like spinach, carrot, mushroom, potato, and peas.
Add the salt and spices into the mix.
Step 5 Water and Pressure Cooker. Serve.
After heating it up for some moments, add around a liter of water and leave it in the pressure cooker to cook properly.
After 4 rounds of the Cooker Bell, Your Jaulo is ready to be served.
