It leads Worldlink to established a flexible optical network that meets the demand for increasing online traffic.
Competiton For Fiber Subscribers
To know the current market status of Worldlink we need to compare their service with their competitors. Therefore, in Nepal massive number of users get internet from Fiber connectivity and there are altogether 10 companies who are competing with it in the market. Nepal Doorsanchar Company only has 3,418 fiber subscribers which are just a 1% share in fiber subscribers.
Moreover, Vianet Communication has 14% subscribers in the fiber market whereas internet service provider companies like Classic tech, Subisu Cablenet, and TechMinds Network cover around 10-12% altogether. And talking about Worldlink then we have to say that, currently it is the leading in these sectors with a market coverage of 57%.
So according to data in fiber internet, Worldlink is the clear winner and so far none of the companies are even close to it. And now it owns International Private Leased Circuit (IPLC) network over undersea fiber to Singapore and peers directly with Singtel.
Wireless subscribers in Nepal
NTA has announced that only 9% of the total internet subscribers are using wireless service which is 71,998. In this market, world link seems to perform very poorly and Broadlink Network & communication is ahead in the competition.
Worldlink only has 3872 subscribers which are even less than Subisu and Nepal Doorsanchar. Broadlink has outcasted the Worldlink with it’s 23624 wireless subscribers which are 33% of the total market. And Nepal Doorsanchar company stands in second place by 25% i.e 18,066 subscribers.
Subscribers Comparison
As we have already told you, to know the best internet service provider we need to look at its total subscribers and it’s services that they are providing. Meanwhile, in fiber optics, Worldlink is far ahead from its competitions, and that can be seen in the given figure.
Now, let’s make a wireless service comparison. As mention above, the leading company in wireless service is Broadlink. Out of the total users in Nepal, only 9% are wireless users and Broadlink has captured one-third of the whole market which is 33%. Eventually, Worldlink has not been able to compete with Broadlink in this market.
Now, let’s have a look at cable internet services. So out of the total users, 33% of Nepalese used the internet through cable services. And in a world context, cable internet services are outdated. So, Worldlink has not shown any interest in this sector. They are providing the above services where Worldlink has a massive lead in fiber optics but performed poorly in wireless services.

Current Market Position
Still today it is one of the famous internet service providers in Nepal. But in recent times they have also faced downfall. The outbreak of Covid-19 has increased the usage of the internet everywhere but the company is unable to deliver the quality of service that is used to provide before.
In 2020 their subscriber’s rate has seen a downfall due to its slow internet. In social media, the World link receives many criticisms from its customers and so far they are unable to fix these problems. We have gone through their official’s Facebook page where their posts are filled with customer complaints.
To Sum Up
Nevertheless, they have a good customer support system but still, most of its user always seems to have dissatisfaction with the net speed. However, besides all these criticism, Worldlink still has the largest number of subscribers in fiber optics, and due to lockdown, there is a massive increase in internet traffic which perhaps slows down their internet speed.
