Acne is a very common skin problem among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages. Here are few prevention tricks to avoid acne:
1. Drink Plenty of Water
Hydrating yourself helps to detoxify your body and clean the internal parts of the body so it gives you clear skin without any dirt and bacteria. Drinking water will also help to improve the elasticity of the skin, preventing wrinkles.
2. Use Clean Pillowcase
Wash or change your pillowcase and sheets at least once a week because residual makeup, bacteria, dirt, and oil can build up on your pillowcase. When your facial skin touches the pillowcase, the dirt gets into your skin and triggers acne.
3. Make Sure Your Phone is Clean
Germs and bacteria can easily get transferred directly from your phone to your face when making a call which can cause your pores to become clogged and creates acne and blemishes. So, use a clean phone or replace it with earphones.
4. Avoid Junk Food
Junk food contains a high level of sugar, salt, fat, refined carbohydrates, insulin and may increase acne risk. If your stomach gets upset, it shows up on the face, thus, be careful and eat healthy food.
5. Avoid Oily Cosmetics
Excess oil is the main cause for acne so prevent oily cosmetics, rather you can use gel-based sunscreen, moisturizers or oil-free cosmetics.
6. Have Clean Hair and Body
If you have oily hair and skin, then you should take bath regularly to keep excess oil off of your forehead, face and back to prevent acne. As acne is caused due to too much of sebum and dead skin cells clogging pores, taking a bath can help remove excess oil.
7. Eat Healthy Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables
Since fruits and vegetables are a rich source of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, mineral zinc and antioxidant chemicals which helps to reduce inflammation and has a beneficial effect on acne. Antioxidants are in brightly colored fruits and vegetables, including peppers, spinach, carrots, pumpkins, beans, kale, sunflower seeds, broccoli, and berries.
8. Have Enough Sleep
Skipping sleep can increase cortisol in the body – which in turn produces more sebum and more acne. Also, sleep loss increases inflammation that turns clear skin into acne skin.
9. Avoid Stress
Stress causes your body to make hormones like cortisol, which tells glands in your skin to make oil. Indeed, stress alone cant be the single cause for acne.
