The owner of this restaurant is Mr Bijaya Yonzon, who learned to cook Korean food when he was working in Korean and learned the Korean language.

Around 10 years ago, Saan Sarang Korean Restaurant was established. This restaurant is located in Boudha, Kathmandu. The name of the founder is Ang Yangdu Sherpa, who began the restaurant to complete her family business i.e. a trekking agency. Ang Yangdu Sherpa’s client wanted to taste Korean food, but there was not a restaurant that can serve Korean food in the Boudha area at that time, encouraging her to start one.

Gradually, she also worked to transport the taste buds of locals. Saan Sarang Korean Restaurant is a place for family dining, Ang Yangdu says. A major dish in Korea is the Pork barbeque. “The customer can make it themselves and a family can spend quality time doing the barbeque on their own”, said Sherpa.

4. Hankook Sarang Korean Restaurant:

Chij Man Gurung returned from South Korea in 2000 and he wants to have his own business in Nepal. He started Hankook Sarang Korean Restaurant in Pokhara in 2002 and there is only a handful of restaurants that serve Korean food to tourists. He got a motivation for starting a Korean restaurant from his personal opinion that Korean food is more hygienic and healthier than meals from other countries.

Chij Man bought a new Korean restaurant in Tangal, Kathmandu. Chicken and Pork items are the most sought-after delicacies at Hankook Sarang.
