13 Life Lessons We Should Know
Here is a short and sweet reminder of the lessons most of us might have learned in life or yet to learned.
Whatever it might be, these things still make a difference in our life. So, go and frow through the lists.
1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good
The very first lesson we learn initially is that life isn’t always fair. There are ups and downs. Sometimes we do good to people with nice intention but it turns out bad, you work hard but the credit of it goes the other. This happens and we should be aware of it and embrace it.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step
There are many such stages in life where you feel lost and you doubt yourself, and your self-worth. Yet, you have to stand up take tiny steps, don’t have to be big, and carry yourself forward. Generally what we assume is that big moves and huge kicks are the steps to success, but it isn’t true. Small things matter the most.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone
You think you have time, you take your life for granted. But time is limited and life on the other side is a precious gift. So, live life to the fullest, love wholeheartedly, soulfully, and throw all the hatred and resentments because life is short.
4. Don’t take yourself seriously
Many of us are damn serious about life, these people can be termed as serious freaks. Being that is good to some extent but we forget how to deal with it and live our life without enjoying it. What a waste, Isn’t it?
Those who are chilled towards life don’t even know the definition of seriousness but those who are suffering from this kind of disease should know how to enjoy life taking a break.
5. You don’t have to win every argument
It’s not necessary to always be right and win every argument. If you think you are the one who is right always, then know that you have a problem. Your learning stops. Humans learn from their mistakes. Therefore, it is essential to make mistakes and do wrong things. This is an indispensable part of life.
6. Cry with someone
Don’t be a lunatic. Being alone and being lonely are different things. To be alone is enjoying personal time for any amount of time frame you like. Unlike the previous one, being lonely is what you choose to be, what you want to do with yourself. We are social beings and we can’t be alone longer. Value can be added to life if we share happiness and sorrows with one another.
7. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile
Who doesn’t like chocolates? Everyone does right! We can’t stop ourselves from taking at least a small block of it. But here relating to chocolates, we are trying to compare them with the rewards we get from life. The pleasures and the rewards we get can’t be ignored even if we want to. We want to enjoy it. So, extract much as you want from the chocolates of your life.
8. Make peace with your past. (so that it won’t screw up your present)
We have our own history, our own past which we can never forget. What we can do instead is that we can let go of the bad memories and make peace with them. Letting go sounds easy but it is not. It’s hard but remembers it’s not impossible.
The major mistake we all people make is we don’t try to dig deeper and find reasons and faults to every problem. This is where we fail in life and consequently, we have to pay it sooner or later. To avoid this and to not let it screw up our present make your past worth it even at the worst. .It’s okay to let your children see you cry.
9. It’s okay to let your children see you cry
As parents, you might feel hesitant and uncomfortable to appear weak in front of your children. It is an obvious thing, but have to know and realize that it’s completely okay to break down. There will be times where you can’t tolerate how you feel and how your life is treating you. And this will be understood. They will take it normally.
10. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about
Comparison is a big mistake and trend which we have embraced since we were a child. Our society taught this, our parents knowingly or unknowingly taught this. Growing up we realize every people have their own way of living life and doing things. They have their own pages. So, the comparison is a huge illusion.
From small things to however bigger they may be we should never compare. It makes us feel unwanted and makes us question our self-worth.
11. Today is special
Burn the candles; use the nice sheets; wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for special occasions because today is the day and today is special. Do what you want to do when you really feel like otherwise the day and the energy would fade away without even realizing.
12. No one is in charge of your happiness except you
We are sure each and every one of us has done this mistake of searching for happiness in others. We desire validations from others and when time passes by we will come to know that happiness is within ourselves.
As the famous proverb says – “None and nothing can make you happy unless you are happy with yourselves”, which is an absolute truth of life. So, stop seeking validations and search for true happiness inside of you.
13. Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift
Life is indeed the biggest gift of every human being. We just have to know how to live it. If we know that life will be a blessing and you will want to live it forever.
Stress comes, hurdles come, loved one comes, loved one goes, pain comes and go, but remember life is still a gift. So value it and make the most out of it.
